Saved By The Belt
At the November 29th Hickory Hills City Council Meeting, Malgorzata Walkosz was recognized by the Hickory Hills Police Department for her commitment to seat belt safety. Ms. Walkosz was involved in a 4-car accident on the evening of October 24th when she was struck head-on while sitting at a red light on 88th Ave. at 95th Street. The impact drove her vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Altima, backward into another car. The force of the crash also set off her vehicle’s air bag. Fortunately Ms. Walkosz was wearing her seat belt and suffered no serious injuries. Her 5-month old vehicle was totaled in the crash, but cars can be replaced. Ms. Walkosz was presented with the “Saved By The Seat Belt” award by Chief Alan T. Vodicka along with Traffic Officer Scott Sodaro. When asked what her next car will be, Ms. Walkosz stated, “A semi-truck.”
