On April 14, 2008, Lt. Michael Rattigan was award his 20 years of service pin by Chief Alan Vodika.

On March 1st, 2008, Officers Adam Gulczynski, Jim Compton, Charles Hobart, Mark Benaitis, Ryan Bajt and Joe Roscetti will once again participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. Last year these officers braved the cold weather and freezing water of Lake Manteno to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois. As a team, they raised $3525.77 and won an award for Best Team. This money helps children with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competitions. These kids benefit from much more than the physical training. they develop intellectually, socially as well as emotionally. The Hickory Hills Polar Plunge Team would like to thank every one who made donations and again ask for your help with this great cause. Donations can be made online at http://www.firstgiving.com/HHPDplunge2008 or by check payable to Special Olympics Illinois.

Thank you for your support.
