I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Hickory Hills Police Department Web Site, a community service developed for your use. I encourage you to view the contents of our page and become more familiar with the services our department has to offer. Additionally, we have provided a feedback section for you to have a direct link with the police department. With your input, we hope to develop more ways to meet the needs of our residents. We have developed a solid foundation within the community that involves an interaction with our residents to provide the finest in law enforcement services. Building a partnership with the citizens of Hickory Hills is a priority with our administration. We are very proud of every one of our employees and the hard work that they do every day. Sincerely, Deputy Chief Michael Murphy OUR MISSION STATEMENT The members of the Hickory Hills Police Department are dedicated to identifying the safety needs of the community, developing strategies to meet those needs, creating partnerships with community groups and organizations, and establishing procedures to improve the well-being of the residents and visitors of our community. Everyone who has contact with members of the department will be treated with equal respect and dignity. Preservation of the peace through pro-active and selective enforcement procedures, education of the public we serve, and adherence to Federal, State, and local laws and ordinance serve as the foundation of our organization.
Hours of Operation: The Hickory Hills Police Department is available to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For service calls requiring police response, persons should call (708) 598-1313 (VOICE OR TDD). For information, general assistance, or questions, persons should dial (708) 598-4900. Emergency requests for assistance can always be made by use of the 911 system. Detectives are available to assist the patrol division as needed and at least one investigator is on call at all times . Our records division provides copies of police reports, information regarding traffic and parking citations, as well as general information. The Records division is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The federal government has instituted a color coded security advisory to provide comprehensive and effective means to disseminate information regarding the risk of terrorist acts to the American people. In addition, the Hickory Hills Police Department has developed the following information for our residents to meet the heightened state of awareness as requested our government. -Contingency plans and emergency response procedures shall be reviewed and updated on a weekly basis with all police department personnel. -Patrol activity has been increased at all school buildings with special attention given to normal school hours and after-school activities. -Fire lanes at all business areas are to be kept clear of parked vehicles. -Premise checks will be conducted at all restaurant and banquet halls. This will include both interior and exterior areas checked for suspicious activity. -Extra patrol will be given to all area churches in the community. -Increase patrol at all city buildings and related municipal facilities. -Direct communication on a daily basis with all other city departments as well as local police agencies and fire protection districts. -In addition, all police department personnel are now on alert and emergency standby status until further notice.
